Head of Construction

 

The ideal candidate owns a 15-20 years’ experience in managing Construction Projects and leading of Teams. The resource will be responsible for a variety of different activities, ranging from the day to day management of construction actions, acquisitions and technical due diligence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Cost estimation for appraisals and future works;
  • Pre-qualification of suppliers (being that contractors, vendors, consultants, etc.);
  • Designer recommendation, permitting coordination activities and design development/review;
  • Technical due diligence;
  • Risk management;
  • Procurement (tendering, negotiations and recommendation) of 3rd parties (in cases equipment, material, systems) involved in pre-construction, construction phases of a development, and/or 3rd parties involved in acquisition of properties;
  • Contract administration;
  • Analyze project requirements with the relevant project sponsors/colleagues;
  • Undertake and lead in the implementation of customer bid proposals and evaluate their feasibility;
  • Plan and identify project cash flow and financing needs;
  • Coordinate the Construction team - plan, identify, hire and manage team members in coordination with the HR Department and under the direction of Country Managing Director and Group Construction Director;
  • Manage the Crisis Line related to incidents arising in-country;
  • Stewardship of the sustainability & ESG pursuits in-country, in line with the company’s and/or Shareholder directions.

 

Requirements:

  • Previous work experience in at least three out of four different sectors, being: consultancy, general contractor (GC), investor, retail;
  • Fluency in English (minimum B2).

 

The ideal candidate should display outstanding organisational and management skills as well as a strong hands on approach.
